Where do the months go?
Well we keep filling them with fun and games!
This term I arrived at Brownies one evening to find a camp toilet by the door. It transpired that the Brownies were combining 'fun with numbers' badge with fundraising for Water Aid.
The other units also seem to have been beavering away to help others recently, with a Charities Fair (Guides) raising £275 for a number of charities; harvest baskets; serving teas at several events; helping at the Church Fair; making a quilt for a children's hospital ( Rainbows), and finally Carol Singing at Arrowe Park Hospital ( Guides and Senior Section).
Its a new beginning for lots of us in the New Year. Brown Owl has flown from the woods to pastures new, and other leaders will be taking over the packs. Due to their already busy schedule, and geography, these will be on a temporary basis for 6 months. During this time we hope to find other volunteers who can train and be ready to take on the Packs. There are waiting lists for girls to join the packs, so we do hope that they don't have to close.
There's a new Guide uniform, and a new Brownie Handbook around at the moment, so plenty for us to get used to! That's one thing you can be sure of in Guiding; things aren't rooted in the past. Girlguiding changes with the times, and keeps offering fresh challenges to the girls and leaders alike.
We're looking forward to exciting adventures in 2015.
