This term has given us opportunities to explore the outdoors in autumn. The Brownies have been tackling their Seasons badges. They went blackberry picking and were given baking apples which they turned into scrumptious crumbles. They have also been collecting autumn leaves and seeds.
The Guides have been for a walk in the dark woods. The Senior Section lit a fire and had sparklers, but unfortunately the Guides' plans to have a bonfire were thwarted by the weather when the fire area flooded.
Tomorrow is the first day of Advent. In the units we are preparing for our Christmas Social Evening. We all meet together and invite our families too. The girls will be singing a couple of Christmas songs, and this year we're teaching them to sign one in Makaton. There'll be seasonal refreshments, a Tombola and gift stall, and we'll finish with everyone singing the old favourites together.
