I can't believe it's May aready.
In the Easter holidays we held a very successful Grounds Day, with a few families volunteering to clear paths, cut back the holly, and clear out all the gutters. We also dug out masses of snowberry and hope that we'll be able to plant some fruit bushes in their place.
This was in time for the Guides to begin the term with a day camp, which included cooking their own meals outdoors, pitching a tent and building a rope bridge. They finished with a camp fire ( with a lot of silly songs).
All of the units plan to spend lots of their meeting time out of doors to make the most of the summer evenings.
Tonight the Rangers met to chill out before they start their exams. They lit a camp fire and toasted the inevitable marshmallows. Em told us about her recent trip to The Gambia.
Both of the Brownie packs are going to tackle the Gardener badge this term. They've planted seeds to take home and nurture, and may be going to transplant some of them into the grounds.
The Guides have held a patrol leaders council and asked for more outdoor activities, food and drama, so trips to the park, the woods, the view-finder and the beach are on the plans
Lets hope that the weather cooperates and we will all hae a great time.
